In the California desert, Victoria and Klaus, an ordinary married couple, are driving to a baptism. Along the way, a radar on their cell phone warns them of a police checkpoint a few kilometers ahead. Visibly nervous, they try to act casual and, in an attempt to avoid being stopped, take a shortcut through the desert.
